Wilmington, Ohio, hosted the 48th Clinton County Corn Festival, a three-day weekend event at the Clinton County Fairgrounds featuring exhibits, demonstrations and entertainment.

According to the Wilmington News Journal, the festival was established in 1978 by the Antique Power Club of Clinton County and the Clinton County Historical Society, following several years in which the two groups held annual shows together.

Antique power remains central to the event, the paper reported. Displays of tractors and engines and equipment demonstrations were scheduled alongside tractor pulls, friendly competitions, a petting zoo, crafts and antiques, and live music.

This year's festival also hosted the 43rd Gathering of the Orange, which the newspaper said drew Allis-Chalmers collectors and equipment from around the country to Wilmington. The report described a lineup of vintage Allis-Chalmers tractors and a sign marking the gathering, along with garden tractors on display.

Friday scenes documented by the paper included a sawmill demonstration, a Fairbanks-Morse engine firing up, a car show with a vintage Ford Ranchero, quilts on display, homemade ice cream, a petting zoo, and a soundcheck by the band Inherit the Earth. Brian Brown, president of the Antique Power Club of Clinton County, and club trustee Jonathan McKay were also pictured at the fairgrounds.
