The City of Columbus has announced a groundbreaking ceremony for Greenleaf Park on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. The event is set for the future park site near Brown and Greenleaf roads on the city’s Southwest Side. The ceremony is scheduled to last 30 minutes.
A city bulletin describes Greenleaf Park as a new neighborhood park covering 8.9 acres. It says the project is one part of a public investment across multiple sites intended to add park space in the Southwest Side area. The bulletin does not list park amenities or a construction schedule.
Parking for ceremony attendees will be at Iglesia Camino de Santidad, 1553 Brown Road, Columbus, OH 43223. The bulletin states that this location is next to the groundbreaking site.
People who intend to attend are asked to RSVP through a registration button included in the bulletin. The announcement identifies the park project as expanding park space on the Southwest Side.
