The Darke County Republican Women's Club has scheduled a speaking event featuring David Coons, a candidate for Darke County Commissioner. The gathering is set for 6:30 P.M. on October 12 at the Do Good Restaurant in Osgood, Ohio, according to the club's announcement. The announcement does not state a year for the date.
Coons lives in the Versailles area. According to the club, he studied agriculture at The Ohio State University and works with farmers daily as an insurance agent. He also sits on the boards of Darke Rural Electric and the Darke County CIC, and volunteers with community organizations and his church, the club said.
Admission to the program is free and no reservations are needed. The restaurant will begin selling full menu items at 6 P.M., the announcement states.
The DCRWC describes itself as a local political group open to all Republicans. Its stated aims include political education, legislative information, promoting Republican principles, increasing registered Republicans, recruiting and supporting Republican women for office, backing Republican candidates, and assisting other Republican organizations. The club calls itself multi-generational and multi-cultural and says it is chartered by the National Federation of Republican Women and is a member of the Ohio Federation of Republican Women.
