U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, met with Allen County commissioners on Monday in Lima, his second trip to the county in two weeks, according to WLIO.
The visit formed part of a tour of Ohio's 4th Congressional District that also included school stops in Van Wert and Delphos, the station reported. Commissioners briefed Jordan on county projects, among them the new Allen County Government Center, which the report says is due to open next month.
Jordan said he has heard from Ohioans about rising prices for everyday goods and about data centers. His stated position, per the report, is that decisions on whether, when, where and how data centers are sited belong to local communities.
Allen County Commissioner Brian Winegardner said such meetings help maintain communication between local and federal officials, adding that when answers are not available locally, officials can seek them at the state or federal level.
Jordan also spoke at a Republican Party Victory Center event the prior week, according to WLIO, and said he hopes to come back to Allen County when the government center opens.
