Lake Township's zoning commission in Logan County has scheduled a Nov. 18, 2026, public hearing on proposed amendments to the township zoning resolution. The hearing is set for 6:30 p.m. at Lake Township Hall, 900 South Detroit Street in Bellefontaine.
The notice, signed by commission chair Mark Overly, says the amendments were initiated by commission motion. They would add definitions for small off-site battery energy storage systems and data centers. The proposal also would change the public service facility definition, revise Section 350 penalties for violations, and update public notice requirements in Article V and Article VI. It would clarify prohibited uses under Article IX.
The proposed text and maps may be examined for 10 days before the hearing at D. William Boy CPA, 325 North Main Street, Bellefontaine, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The notice does not state the first day of that review period.
After the hearing, the matter will be submitted to the Lake Township Board of Trustees for action, according to the notice.
