Lakewood's fall leaf pickup is scheduled to start on Nov. 1, 2026, according to the city, and is expected to run until roughly Dec. 15, depending on the weather. Crews from the Streets and Forestry division work through every street in the city more than once. The city said that in 2025, collection teams returned to streets about once a week before winter conditions ended the effort.

Residents who want their leaves picked up are asked to rake them into a loose pile on the tree lawn, keeping the pile within six feet of the curb. The city also requests that vehicles be kept off the street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. so crews can reach all the leaves. On streets with a lot of parked cars, temporary no-parking signs may go up ahead of a collection visit.

The city points residents to its leaf collection webpage for program details and an interactive map showing recent and upcoming collection locations.
