ODOT has selected a roundabout design for U.S. 224 and Van Wert-Decatur Road in Van Wert County, The Lima News reported Sept. 18.

The plan shifts a single-lane roundabout east of the existing intersection and includes temporary right-of-way impacts during construction. The agency considered public comments before choosing the option.

The report puts the estimated cost at $3.6 million and identifies Ohio’s Highway Safety Program as the funding source. It does not give a construction start date.

Updates are available through ODOT’s project page, numbered 124413. The design selection is a planning milestone, not a notice that construction has started.
