Ohio's weekly Child and Adult Care Food Program bulletin, issued Sept. 14, lists several compliance duties for sponsors.
Sponsors who prepare meals or snacks must complete an annual inventory of unopened food and non-food supplies and establish its dollar value, covering the close of the federal fiscal year on Sept. 30 and the Oct. 1 start of the next one. The packet sits in the download forms area of the Claims Reimbursement and Reporting System.
On signatures, the state says Permanent Agreements and Certificates of Authority belong to the program administration or its authorized CACFP employee designee. Contractors, consultants, vendors and Food Service Management Company staff may not sign for a sponsoring organization, and account logins should stay with individuals. A separate COA is needed to give those outside parties their own access.
Sponsoring organizations must hold Permanent Agreements with their unaffiliated centers; the department has updated its template, while family day care homes keep using the existing provider agreement. Both templates are in the CRRS download section.
All sponsors must keep an active Unique Entity Identifier in SAM.gov, renewing before the annual expiration shown in their entity record.
Mandatory annual online courses cover sponsor training (DEW 110), performance standards (DEW 130) and civil rights (DEW 150), with certificates attached in CRRS. In-person recordkeeping training, now required yearly for all sponsors, is set for Oct. 6 in Hamilton County and Oct. 13 at the Ohio Department of Public Safety; meal pattern training follows Nov. 5 at the Gahanna Library. Registration shuts the day before each session. October's Great Apple Crunch encourages locally grown apples on Oct. 8.
