Ohio Education Department bulletin lists Oct. 27 blood drive, Oct. 20 webinar, FSA and charity deadlines

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce issued an employee update on Oct. 15 with several dates for staff. An American Red Cross blood drive is planned for Oct. 27 at 25 S. Front St. People who donate between Oct. 19 and Nov. 22 may receive up to $20 in gift cards, according to the bulletin.

A Section for Organizational Effectiveness webinar is scheduled for Oct. 20 and will cover using Ohio Learn to build professional learning for department stakeholders. The enrollment window for 2027 Flexible Spending Accounts runs from Oct. 13 through Oct. 26. The update says enrollment is not automatic and that team members must sign up each year for health care or dependent care FSA benefits.

The Combined Charitable Campaign ends Oct. 23, the bulletin says, and coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Donations support more than 800 causes. The department also directs employees to its Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts.
