The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is promoting mentoring for new teachers and two virtual professional learning series for school leaders, according to its Sept. 18 bulletin.

The Council for Exceptional Children-Ohio Unit is partnering with the department on the New Teacher Institute. The notice says the mentoring connects classroom practices with resources and Ohio's Integrated MTSS model, while offering access to CEC membership and materials.

The free Leading for Impact series begins Sept. 30 and spans five virtual sessions. It covers leadership practices supporting literacy, mathematics and student outcomes.

A separate three-workshop series for smaller school districts starts Oct. 1, with morning and afternoon options. Its focus is improving instruction and continuous improvement efforts.

Interested teachers and school leadership teams should use the application and registration links in the department's original bulletin to review participation details.
