Ohio's Office of Pupil Transportation will host a training session on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, beginning at 10 a.m., to help districts prepare the T-1 Ridership Report. The office stated that generative AI tools may not be used during its meetings, and it pointed attendees to an ADA coordinator for accommodation requests tied to scheduling agencies.

The T-1 filing is required yearly under Ohio Administrative Code 3301-83-01. Count week is the first full October week in which school is in session; districts that did not have five full session days during the week of Oct. 5 may roll to their next full week without asking the office for clearance. Reported figures cover the number of pupils transported and total daily miles, and they feed the pupil transportation payment calculation under Section 3317.0212.

A procedural change marks this reporting cycle. Under the former SFPS system, mileage and student counts were entered bus by bus, while DRIVES now takes aggregate totals. Reporting schools remain responsible for recording vehicle use by school type, daily mileage and per-vehicle ridership for the Auditor of State. Exportable DRIVES reports include the T-2 audit validation, driver certification, driver status, driver BMV records and the driver/employer T-8 form, all available as Excel files.

The statewide School Bus Safety Road-E-O takes place Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at Berlin High School, 3140 Berlin Station Road, Delaware, Ohio. Organizers chose a "Fall Fiesta" theme with a taco bar and a remembrance station honoring transportation colleagues who have died; attendees may bring photos. National School Bus Safety Week runs Oct. 19 through 23, 2026. The Pupil Transportation Office will be shut Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, for Columbus Day.
