Ohio education officials released the state's School Report Cards on the morning of Sept. 15, 2026, with data posted for districts, schools, community schools, Career Technical Planning Districts, and dropout recovery and prevention schools. The results appear on the state's report card website.
In a bulletin accompanying the release, Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director Stephen D. Dackin framed the report cards as a measure of progress rather than a final judgment, pointing to literacy, accelerated learning, wellness, and workforce preparation as current priorities.
The bulletin states that Ohio completed its first full year in which all learning communities used the Science of Reading in literacy instruction, a milestone described as a key benchmark for language and literacy outcomes. It also notes growth in how schools prepare graduates for later success, while crediting educators and school staff for the improvements.
A training session covering what the report cards measure and how to access and analyze the data was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at 1 p.m., with registration and additional materials available through the department's Report Card Training Hub. The bulletin also suggested questions for local discussions, including literacy progress and career readiness programs.
