The incident involved a single-engine 1957 Cessna 182A operated by Canton Air Sport, according to the post. While landing at Lee Airport in Lexington Township on Saturday, the plane lost control and rolled past its intended touchdown area before hitting a ditch and stopping on state Route 225. The patrol placed the time at 10:41 a.m.
The pilot lives in Twin Falls, Idaho. The post reported minor injuries and said the pilot was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital for treatment.
Other agencies at the site included the Stark County Sheriff's Office and Lexington Fire Department, plus Emergency Medical Transport, Marlboro Towing and the Ohio Department of Transportation, per the patrol. The post said the FAA and NTSB were notified and will each carry out their own investigations.
