A state trooper assisting with flood-related traffic control in Ross County was taken to a hospital after being struck by a passing vehicle, NBC4 reported on September 14, citing the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The station placed the incident on U.S. 23 near Blain Highway. It reported that the side mirror of a Jeep traveling along the shoulder struck the trooper while the trooper was helping another motorist. The injuries were described as minor.

NBC4 reported that the driver was stopped and arrested. An arrest is not a finding of guilt. The traffic-control work was taking place amid recovery from flooding in the region.
