According to a September 16 report in The Perry Tribune, the Perry County Commissioners provided figures from the Multi-Agency Resource Center, which has since shut its doors.
Commissioners reported the center served 270 people between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28, with 202 of them living in Perry County. Roughly 44 county residents received help the following week, they said. A separate location at the Corning library assisted an estimated six to eight individuals.
Separately, a Small Business Administration disaster recovery resource information session drew roughly 40-50 people, according to the commissioners.
Even with the resource center now closed, commissioners said agencies such as HAPCAP, United Way and Job and Family Services continue to offer assistance, though not all under one roof.
Commissioners also said the Southeast Ohio Foodbank planned a food distribution at the county fairgrounds in New Lexington on Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon.
In other business, the commissioners authorized Scott Owen to sign a pay application tied to Junction City Park improvements and a clean hands affidavit concerning the former Crooksville municipal building on China Street. T&M Associates was authorized to seek funding through the Brownfield Remediation Program and the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program for the coming year, the commissioners said.
