The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce issued a ReadOhio Network Newsletter dated Sept. 25, 2026, with updates tied to literacy coaching and reading initiatives.

A virtual ReadOhio Coaching Credential Network meeting is set for Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., according to the newsletter. It says the session continues learning from regional meetings and offers chances to collaborate and apply coaching practices. Materials are expected in the October ReadOhio Network Google folder.

Stephanie VanDyke asks ReadOhio coaching stakeholders to complete a communications survey, which the newsletter says closes Oct. 12, 2026, and will inform her professional growth and learning.

The newsletter also states a Third Grade Reading Guarantee Q&A webinar was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. It says department team members planned to answer questions on the K-3 Reading Diagnostic, RIMPs, promotion and retention, and alternative assessments. Because the draft date is Sept. 25, that webinar may have already begun; readers should check the program webpage for a link.

Additionally, the newsletter describes 2026-2027 literacy professional development and facilitator training through the Office of Literacy Achievement for State Support Team and Educational Service Center consultants, including live virtual sessions, facilitator training and on-demand learning. It says Birth through Kindergarten Entry awardees received funding through the Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant, and notes Ohio received a $60 million award in 2024 from the U.S. Department of Education focused on underserved students.
