Youngstown residents can obtain free leaf bags and curbside leaf collection this fall, according to a city announcement posted Oct. 6.
Bag distribution opened Oct. 5 and continues while supplies last, the city said. Bags are available at the city office at 9 W. Front St. from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. People picking up bags are also asked to take a collection guide.
Curbside collection is set for Nov. 2 through Dec. 4. Green Youngstown is named as the contact at (330) 744-7526.
As of the draft date of Oct. 7, the bag giveaway had already started and the collection window had not yet opened. The announcement does not say which areas are served, whether there is a limit per household, or how weather or holidays could shift the schedule. It also does not specify whether leaves must be placed in the provided bags or in another type of container.
Residents seeking details on eligibility, bag limits or the pickup schedule are directed to contact Green Youngstown; the notice provides no further information.
