Activate Allen County brought community partners together to review the prior three years of work tied to its health improvement plan, according to a WLIO report from Lima, Ohio.
The organization updates that plan every three years, targeting the county's most significant health challenges. The current review covers maternal and infant health, behavioral and mental health, thriving communities, and substance use and prevention.
Kayla Monfort, identified as the organization's executive director, described the plan as an effort to combine resources and let data identify needs and gaps before partners set achievable goals together. She said the intent is to keep agencies from operating alone in separate silos.
The report states that roughly 20 agencies take part and about 35 people participate, and that the county is seeing progress in those areas. However, the account did not provide specific outcome measures, trend data, or independently verified results, so the scale of any progress cannot be confirmed from it. The organization also marked 15 years of collaborative work on health in Allen County.
