The Lima News reported on September 14 that Allen County emergency management director Gesler spoke to the Lima Rotary Club during National Preparedness Month. The presentation focused on planning within households and communicating those plans to other people.

According to the newspaper, Gesler discussed making sure relatives, neighbors and colleagues know what arrangements a household expects to use. He noted that some people intend to stay with a neighbor during a disruption without first discussing that plan with them.

The Lima News also directed readers to the county emergency management website for notification sign-ups. This is a recap of a community presentation, rather than a notice of an emergency currently affecting Allen County.
