Allen County’s October drop-off recycling schedule has been released by the North Central Ohio Solid Waste District, according to the district’s announcement. Collection events are set for seven locations.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, American Township will accept recyclables from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the northwest corner of Lima Mall’s parking lot, 2400 Elida Road, Lima. Cairo/Monroe Township’s event is Thursday, Oct. 8, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on South Wall Street in Cairo. Bath Township is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 15, 2:30 to 5 p.m., at Bath Township Hall, 2880 Ada Road, Lima.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, Harrod/Auglaize Township runs noon to 2:30 p.m. at Allen East Community Center, 9520 Harrod Road, Harrod; Lafayette/Jackson Township runs 2:30 to 5 p.m. in the lot east of the fire station, 215 E. Sugar St., Lafayette. Shawnee Township is Thursday, Oct. 22, 9 a.m. to noon at the district office, 815 Shawnee Road, Suite D, Lima.
Delphos is Saturday, Oct. 24, 9 to 11 a.m. at Delphos Fuel and Truck Wash, 1770 E. Fifth St.
Accepted materials include paper products such as newspapers, magazines, cereal boxes, phone books, junk mail, office paper, and brown paper grocery bags. Cardboard must be flattened and no larger than two square feet. Only rinsed #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs are accepted, along with rinsed green, brown, and clear glass food jars and bottles and rinsed metal cans, including aluminum, steel, and tin. Plastic bags are not accepted.
