Bucyrus City Schools has been admitted to the League of Innovative Schools, a national network operated by Digital Promise. The district was picked from a competitive applicant pool, with selection criteria including educational leadership, a record of achievement, an innovative learning vision and collaboration, according to Crawford County Now.
Superintendent Robert Britton, who will serve as the district's representative in the League, said membership fits the district's True North vision of guiding students toward career success. Through partnerships with Digital Promise researchers and other member systems, district leaders will be able to study common community challenges and create research-backed approaches aimed at improving student outcomes.
Jillian Doggett, Digital Promise's director of network supports, said the League has spent 15 years showing that shared problem-solving lets districts advance more quickly. She described a cycle in which practices tested in one classroom can become resources for teachers elsewhere.
The League is marking its 15th anniversary as it welcomes this cohort. Bucyrus and the other new members bring the network to 175 districts across 37 states, with cumulative student reach reported at more than 4.4 million.
