Central Outreach Wellness Center has purchased the former Studio West 117 Fieldhouse, the Cleveland/Lakewood border entertainment complex that shut down in December 2025, according to court records and staff accounts in a Buckeye Flame story republished by Signal Cleveland.
Deairius Houston, the center's director of Community Impact Engagement and Innovation, told the publication he had frequented the venue for years as a member of the ballroom community before it closed. He said the silence that followed the closure discouraged him until a conversation with his boss, founder and medical director Dr. Stacey Lane, about expanding Central Outreach's presence to Cleveland's West Side.
Court documents cited in the story state the original developers borrowed $10 million to acquire and redevelop the Fieldhouse, and cost overruns made the project unviable. The auction drew more than a dozen bidders. Houston described bidding that began at $1 million and ended at $4.1 million for Central Outreach after a restaurateur dropped out. The sale closed September 9.
The organization plans to preserve the venue's entertainment and dining offerings while inviting partners to provide screenings, referrals and other services. Marketing director Alexander Young said wellness extends beyond clinical settings. Houston said a community survey will shape programming and that the space will be renamed, with an opening date still undetermined.
A Central Outreach representative did not provide additional comment to this brief, which is based on the republished account.
