The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner on the evening of Oct. 22 at the Champaign Aviation Museum, Peak of Ohio reported. The gathering brought together business leaders, residents and agricultural partners.

This year’s theme centered on local agriculture and community, and the Chamber presented the event with the Champaign County Farm Bureau and Local Agriculture Council. Organizers served a meal using ingredients from Champaign County farms and businesses, including pork loin, roast chicken, butternut squash lasagna, delicata squash, potatoes, dinner rolls and smoked trout dip. Dessert included ice cream, raspberry jam and granola, while drinks featured wine and beer made with locally grown hops.

Sara Neer, executive director of the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, spoke about the theme and the value of local business leaders gathering to celebrate, according to the report. Fundraising included live and silent auctions, with items such as baked goods, berries, gift baskets and two lower-bowl tickets to the Ohio State-Michigan football game. The auction raised about $3,000 for the Chamber, and drink sales and a 50/50 raffle added more, the report said.

The dinner recognized businesses, farms and individuals who contribute to the county’s growth and aimed to strengthen community connections, Peak of Ohio reported.
