The Clinton County Auditor's Office in Ohio is running its fourth annual coloring contest for children age 10 and under.

According to the office, the winning entry earns a no-cost 2027 dog license and placement on the county website.

Entries open Nov. 2 and are due back at the auditor's office by Dec. 1. Coloring pages can be obtained at the office or downloaded from clintoncountyauditor.org.

For an entry to qualify, certain information must appear on the reverse of the page: the child's name, a parent's name, plus address, phone number and dog's name. Auditor's office staff will pick the winner and reach out to the family.

Auditor Terence Habermehl described the contest as an enjoyable way to lead into the 2027 license season, which starts Dec. 1, 2026, and ends Jan. 31, 2027. He said it encourages owners to buy their 2027 licenses.

Ohio law requires annual licensing for all dogs. The office said additional guidance on renewing or purchasing licenses will follow in the coming weeks.
