Colonel Crawford's volleyball team has opened its season at 11-1, and head coach Jaime Valentine is turning attention to her players' mental approach for the remainder of the schedule, according to Crawford County Now.
The Lady Eagles began with a five-set loss to Elgin, then responded with an extended winning streak. Their conference record stands at 5-1 at the time of the report.
Valentine pointed to team chemistry developed during the summer as a factor in the early results, saying returning veterans have integrated newcomers into the varsity lineup quickly.
Looking ahead, the coach stressed that performing well in high-pressure moments will matter for the team's development. She also connected that growth to her larger philosophy, saying the discipline and resilience players build on the court are meant to carry into life after high school.
