Students weighing enrollment at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center in Lisbon got a look at manufacturing in the region as part of the school's "Explore Your Future" event, WKBN reported on Oct. 13, 2026.
During the tour, participants visited local facilities and were introduced to the center's programs in welding, precision machining, manufacturing, construction technology, cybersecurity and information technology.
U.S. Rep. Michael Rulli addressed those gathered. According to the station, he said career technical education matters and told current high school sophomores they need to decide on a direction, adding that waiting five or six years after graduation is too late.
Superintendent Jeremy Corbisello said the school receives calls every day from business partners asking about students. He described partners in business and industry who are looking for people eager to begin a career and turn it into stable, family-supporting work.
Corbisello also said starting career exploration at a young age is important, per WKBN.
The report did not specify which facilities students visited or how many took part.
