Columbus officials issued a construction update for Hilltop 1 covering the week that began September 21, 2026, according to a City of Columbus bulletin. The bulletin listed an integrated solution, permeable pavers, waterline improvements and resurfacing as the components of the Hilltop 1 work.
Planned activity across the project area included tree plantings, asphalt resurfacing, concrete restoration and site cleanup, plus lateral cleaning and sanitary point repairs. Temporary lane closures with flaggers or detours were expected as needed, and alley access was described as limited.
Three separate lateral lining efforts were also listed. For Eureka/Fremont Lateral Lining Project 6, sanitary lateral lining operations were to continue. Palmetto/Westgate Lateral Lining Project 1 involved lateral lining, Vac A Tee and cleanout installations. Palmetto/Westgate Lateral Lining Project 2 covered lateral locating, cleaning and CCTV inspections. In each case, the City said residents would be told in advance about cleanout installations and lateral lining work.
The bulletin noted that construction schedules may change because of weather, site issues and similar factors, and it directed residents who were unsure which area they fall in to a Blueprint map where an address can be entered.
Separately, the City said sump pump installations were available for a limited time and invited residents to ask about joining a waitlist for a no-obligation assessment. It also reminded residents that a basement backup — described as sewer water rising from a floor drain — should be reported to the City at 614-645-7102, adding that crews are investigating issues citywide and that a response would not be immediate. Construction questions can go to 614-645-1253 or blueprint@columbus.gov.
