A City of Columbus bulletin thanked participants in a kickoff celebration and said volunteers assembled 1,100 meal and birthday kits for families across the city.
The same bulletin listed four volunteer opportunities in late October. Garden work at Urban Farm Church is set for Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to noon. On Oct. 21, volunteers can assist rescued dogs at Franklin County Dog Shelter during the same hours. Ro’s Kitchen will host meal preparation Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. Dreams on Horseback is scheduled to have horse farm maintenance Oct. 30, also 10 a.m. to noon.
The bulletin encouraged readers to invite a colleague and participate during the month. The events are listed by the city bulletin; the source does not provide additional details on registration, capacity, or location beyond the named organizations. Dates are in 2026 according to the source and draft dates.
