Columbus Recreation and Parks Department's CREATE Committee will host its annual golf outing on Sunday, Oct. 11, at Mentel Memorial Golf Course, 6005 Alkire Road in Galloway, per a city bulletin.

According to the notice, the event is open to all City of Columbus employees. Check-in opens at 7 a.m. and play begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Organizers describe the format as a four-person scramble with games and prizes, followed by lunch in the banquet room. Participants are also invited to stay afterward for NFL games in the clubhouse bar; the bulletin notes the Browns, Bengals and Steelers all play at 1 p.m.

Teams must include at least one City employee, with the remaining three spots open to friends and family. The standard entry fee is $65 per player, or $260 per team, covering green fees, cart, food and prizes. Those who pay in cash by Monday, Oct. 5, receive a reduced rate of $60 per player, or $240 per team. Paying on-site the morning of the outing carries the full $65 per-player charge.

On-site payment may be made by cash, card or check made out to the City of Columbus Treasurer, though the bulletin states cash is strongly preferred. The bulletin directs anyone with questions, registration changes or early-payment requests to contact Mark Williams at maawilliams@columbus.gov. Registration is requested by Oct. 5 via the online form.
