Mayor Ginther issued a bulletin stating that October 2026 is National Disability Employment Awareness Month in Columbus. According to the message, the observance recognizes city employees with disabilities and reaffirms a commitment to a workplace where colleagues are respected and supported. The mayor says this year's national theme, Celebrating Value and Talent, highlights how an inclusive workforce strengthens the city.

He also says employees with disabilities bring experience and perspectives that improve problem-solving and city services for residents. The bulletin announces a training for city employees titled Leveraging Neurodiversity in the Workplace. It is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026. The mayor encourages participation, writing that the session is meant to build understanding of neurodiversity and how to support colleagues with different ways of thinking, learning and communicating.

He adds that greater awareness can shape both internal work and engagement with residents. The message thanks employees for their service and care, and says the city can continue to be a place where workers feel valued and have room to thrive.
