The City of Columbus is accepting applications for the 2027 cohort of its New American Leadership Academy, according to an official city bulletin dated Oct. 5, 2026. The academy is described as a development opportunity aimed at New American professionals, combining personal growth with instruction in civic engagement and exploring ways participants can serve their own communities and the wider city.

Those selected receive mentorship and training that spans government, civic engagement and strategic collaboration, as well as public speaking and conflict resolution and management, the bulletin states. Sessions are scheduled every other week, beginning in March 2027 and ending in November 2027.

The application window closes Nov. 13, 2026. The city directs interested applicants to columbus.gov/nala for details and online submission, and the bulletin also offers a direct link to the application form.
