Columbus is continuing to accept public comments on its Zone In Phase II zoning proposal through Oct. 24, according to a City of Columbus bulletin. The city is directing residents who want background to a Phase II overview that explains why the zoning code is being updated, what the phase covers, lessons from earlier updates and community engagement, and major proposed changes. The overview also describes proposed zoning districts and their potential effects on housing, businesses and neighborhoods.

The city says the complete draft zoning code and maps can be viewed online. In-person exhibits, maps and talks with Zone In team members are available at the Zone In Public Gallery, 141 N. Front Street. The gallery’s regular hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, unless otherwise noted; visitors may drop in or make an appointment.

An online Reddit Ask Me Anything is scheduled for Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the bulletin states. Residents can also use an online survey. The city says every comment submitted during the comment period will be carefully reviewed as the proposal is refined before it goes to Columbus City Council.
