CSX Railroad is expected to close Cook Road at its railroad crossing in Ashtabula Township for six days in November 2026, based on an Ashtabula County announcement. The shutdown is scheduled to start Nov. 6 and end Nov. 11.
The crossing sits about a half-mile south of Middle Road. According to the county notice, CSX will replace rails within the crossing while the road is closed.
The announcement did not list a detour route, daily closure hours, or an estimated reopening time beyond the Nov. 11 end date. Motorists who normally use that stretch of Cook Road may need to find other routes during the work window.
Ashtabula County published the notice on Nov. 2, 2026, four days before the closure was set to begin. This brief reflects the county's description of the project and does not include independent confirmation from CSX.
