Henry County Hospital in Napoleon and ProMedica announced Wednesday that they plan to enter a management affiliation by the end of October, according to WTVG.

The two organizations described the arrangement in a joint release. Under the plan, the hospital would retain its own governance structure and its community-oriented approach while gaining additional resources, broader clinical collaboration and backing from ProMedica's regional network.

Kristi Barnd, the hospital's CEO, said the affiliation is intended to build on the organization's existing strengths and preserve its identity. She credited physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, employees, volunteers and board members, saying their dedication to patients and the community would not change. Barnd also said residents would continue to receive local, personalized care while gaining wider access to specialty services through a regional health system, with the aim of keeping quality care available near home.

Leaders from both organizations said patients should seek care as usual, stating that hospital operations, medical practices and services would continue without interruption once the affiliation is implemented.

The announcement was reported on Oct. 7, 2026. No financial terms or regulatory details were disclosed in the source account.
