XENIA, Ohio — A Greene County racetrack is among a dozen properties being marketed for sale as their owner leaves the racing industry. Darana Raceway, previously known as Kil-Kare Raceway, sits on Dayton Xenia Road and was placed on the market, according to Tranzon Atlas, LLC.
Tranzon Atlas has been contracted to market and sell 12 raceways owned by Darana Motorsports Holdings, LLC. The owner said in a release that the sales are part of a planned exit from racing. CEO Daryl Cuttel said the business had moved in a different direction than initially expected and that he aimed to finish selling the properties and leave the racing business by year's end.
Other tracks in the offering include Dragway 42 in West Salem and National Trail Raceway in Hebron, both in Ohio; the rest are in other states, the source reported. Each property will be offered individually through a hybrid sealed-bid auction, with bids due Nov. 17, 2026.
The Xenia track's history dates to 1951, when the Marshall Brothers built a 1/5-mile dirt track, according to the source. A quarter-mile dragway opened in 1959, and the facility became known for stock car and drag racing. The name changed from Kil-Kare Raceway to Darana Raceway last year.
