Hull Property Group, which owns the Dayton Mall in Miami Twp., is carrying out a multi-phase renovation of the shopping center at 2700 Miamisburg Centerville Road.
According to the company, the first phase is already in progress and covers sheetrock, crown molding, chair rails and baseboards, with mural installations to be added afterward. Work will stop for a short period during the holiday shopping season and is scheduled to pick up again in 2027.
A second phase would bring further visual changes, the company said, touching exterior entrances as well as lighting, ceilings, flooring and paint. Hull Property Group described its mural program as a way to tie the mall more closely to the surrounding community; the planned artwork is intended to celebrate Miami Twp.'s history, culture and identity while also acknowledging mall tenants.
Jim Hull, managing principal of the Augusta, Georgia-based firm, said in the release that the renovation continues the company's commitment to the mall and nearby communities.
The privately owned company focuses on buying, redeveloping and managing enclosed malls and retail centers nationwide. It purchased the Dayton Mall in October 2025; Montgomery County Auditor's Office records show the transaction was recorded Oct. 29, 2025, at $37 million for four parcels that include the 1.4 million-square-foot mall. The firm reports a portfolio exceeding 20 million square feet, with 37 enclosed malls in 17 states. The Dayton Mall is its second enclosed mall in Ohio; the company acquired Eastgate Mall in Union Twp. east of Cincinnati in 2023.
