The Ohio High School Athletic Association issued its first weekly football computer ratings on Tuesday, and each of Knox County's five schools appears in the top 16 of its region at the season's midpoint, according to Knox Pages.
Danville (5-0) is unbeaten and holds third place in Division VII, Region 27, with a rating of 7.9500. Symmes Valley (9.7500) leads the region and Shadyside (8.3000) is second.

Mount Vernon (2-3) is 16th in Division II, Region 7, at 3.8500.
Final ratings come out Oct. 25, per the source. The top 12 schools in every region reach the playoffs, and the top four seeds get a first-round bye. Opening-round regional games begin Oct. 30. State championship games are scheduled for Dec. 3-5 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
The OHSAA, according to the article, announced in June 2025 that qualifiers per region would shrink from 16 to 12, a format continuing this season. All listed positions are from the first ratings release and are subject to change.
