Organizers of the Logan County Bikers for Santa Toy Run say the eighth edition of the charity motorcycle event is scheduled for Oct. 10, with riders gathering at the Bellefontaine Moose at 9 a.m. for a light breakfast plus music, raffles and games hosted by the Moose and Moose Riders.
According to the event listing, the ride leaves at 11 a.m., passing under a large American flag and traveling Main Street with a Bellefontaine police escort. A stop in Quincy with the Tribe Motorcycle Club is planned before the route continues on back roads to Camp Brewing for a meal, music, raffles and fellowship. Spectators are invited to see riders off or watch downtown as a Santa figure leads the procession.
Participation costs $10 per person or an unwrapped gift of equal or greater value, and all bikes are welcome. The listing states that 100% of proceeds go to Lutheran Community Services of Logan County, which distributes the donations. Organizers say the effort has raised $100,000 in toys and cash for underprivileged children in the county across seven years, with support from sponsors. Those interested in sponsoring are directed to message the group's Facebook page, "Logan County Bikers for Santa."
