The foundation said the programs serve children, families, and older adults and focus on youth mental health, youth healthy living, and senior care.
Grant categories include student wellness, food security, youth recreation, family support, independent living education, senior nutrition, and access to health and hygiene supplies.
Specific awards range from $500 to $5,000. Examples include $1,500 to Bellefontaine High School's Opportunity Program, $1,400 to Bellefontaine Middle School's Care Closet, $2,500 to A Kid Again for Logan County family adventures, $3,000 to LifeCare Alliance for Meals-on-Wheels in Logan County, and $5,000 to the West Liberty Lions Foundation for walking path repaving.
Bobbie Trittschuh, the foundation's executive director, said the program's strength reflects grantees' daily efforts to improve health and well-being. She said the foundation is proud to support work that addresses needs and builds a healthier community.
The program began in 2014. Since then, it has awarded more than $500,000, the foundation said.
