Meigs County Emergency Management organized a food distribution for residents affected by flooding, held Thursday at the Meigs County Fairgrounds. According to WTAP's report, both food and cleaning supplies were handed out.
The Joe Burrow Foundation and Lowe's provided the donations, the station reported.
Robin Burrow, the mother of football quarterback Joe Burrow, attended and described the foundation's mission. She said its work covers people in southeast Ohio, Cincinnati and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where her son played college football. Its stated priorities include food insecurity and youth mental health, she added, though the organization also responds to emergency situations when it can.
Burrow noted that anyone who missed Thursday's distribution could reach out to the Meigs County emergency management office to learn about other available resources, per WTAP.
The report did not specify how many households received supplies, how much was donated, or which flooding event prompted the relief effort. It also did not include a phone number or address for follow-up assistance. WTAP's account is based on the event itself and on Burrow's remarks, and does not describe damage estimates or any additional relief scheduled in the county.
