Cincinnati Metro says veterans and active-duty, reserve and National Guard members can ride without paying on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026. The offer applies to all fixed-route buses and Access paratransit, according to the agency’s notice.

Riders must present proof of service when boarding. Metro lists three acceptable forms: a Department of Defense military ID, a state driver’s license marked with veteran status, or a Metro Veterans Program card.

Brandy Jones, Metro’s chief communications and marketing officer, said the agency appreciates military service and described the free rides as a way to help riders reach people, places and events that matter, the notice states.

Metro also said it will run a normal weekday schedule that day. Separately, the agency said its MVP program provides half-price fares for approved veterans and active-duty personnel throughout the year. With the Hamilton County Veterans Service Commission, Metro provides free fixed-route bus transportation to VA medical appointments for MVP card holders, according to the notice.
