A public input survey tied to a new Regional Land Use Plan for Defiance, Paulding and Williams counties is now open, according to a press release published by The Village Reporter. The Maumee Valley Planning Organization said it is working with Reveille LTD on the effort, which has support from an Ohio Department of Agriculture grant.

The release describes the plan as a 15- to 20-year framework covering land development, infrastructure investment and agricultural preservation across the three counties. It invites residents, farm producers, business owners and other stakeholders to respond.

MVPO said survey feedback will inform county-level policies on preserving prime farmland, managing utility-scale renewable energy projects and expanding rural economic opportunities. The release also says the feedback will help identify rural broadband and transportation gaps, coordinate local drainage policies with regional watershed goals for the Maumee River, and shape approaches to rural residential growth.

The online questionnaire is estimated to take about five minutes, and responses are described as confidential. According to the release, compiled data will guide final policy recommendations presented to county commissioners in Defiance, Paulding and Williams counties. The survey is available at www.mvpo.org or through a SurveyMonkey link. Physical copies and more information are available from MVPO at (419) 784-3882 or at its Defiance office.

MVPO describes itself as an Ohio regional planning and development organization serving Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding and Williams counties.
