According to The Lima News, two organizations — Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio and the United Way of Putnam County — plan to open a shared office in Ottawa, with a ribbon-cutting scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at 1225 E. Third St.
An open house is also planned that day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. According to the announcement, those who attend can walk through the space, speak with representatives of both organizations, hear about programs that are available and find out how to take part.
The debut comes as the United Way of Putnam County marks 50 years of work in the county, the announcement states.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio describes its role as developing and maintaining one-on-one mentoring matches, both in schools and in the wider community, that link young people with supportive adult role models.
More about the mentoring organization's mission is available at bbbswco.org, according to the announcement.
