NILES, Ohio — The Trumbull County Historical Society held its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday at the Diamond at 7 17 Credit Union Field, according to WKBN. The station reported that the event continued an 11-year tradition in the city. The event drew community members and prompted cheers, WKBN reported. The historical society hosts the fundraiser each year.
WKBN said the Oktoberfest is the historical society's largest fundraiser. Ten regional breweries poured seasonal favorites and new releases, and the event included German-inspired food, live music, grape stomping and other family-friendly activities.
Organizers told WKBN that keeping the yearly tradition going matters. Ryan Maclennan of the Trumbull County Historical Society said the event is a way to bring the community together and celebrate families and friends. He described it as an opportunity for people to gather and have a good time.
All proceeds from Saturday's event benefit the historical society, according to WKBN. Alex Sorrells contributed to the station's report. The report did not list a fundraising total.
