Ohio State Marion plans to bring faculty members and community partners together for its first Community Partner Breakfast on Thursday, Sept. 24. The program is scheduled for 8:30 to 10 a.m. in Maynard Hall's Guthery Room, according to a university release published by Marion County Now.
The event will focus on projects connecting classroom learning with the work of local organizations. Faculty participants will discuss their experiences and examples of collaboration in the Marion area.
Psychology professor Nikole Patson is among those scheduled to speak. In the release, she described community partnerships as a way for students to apply their learning while drawing on local partners' knowledge and experience.
Organizers also hope the gathering will encourage additional partnerships. The release does not specify a public registration process.
