MANSFIELD — OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital has drawn recognition in the 2026-2027 Best Hospitals edition published by U.S. News & World Report, according to Richland Source.

The hospital earned "high performing" ratings in eight procedures and conditions, the outlet reported: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma; heart arrhythmia; pacemaker implantation; diabetes; kidney failure; knee replacement; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and pneumonia. U.S. News describes a high performing rating as its top distinction within those ratings.

According to the report, U.S. News placed Mansfield Hospital 15th among Ohio hospitals and first in Richland County and nearby areas.

Curt Gingrich, president of OhioHealth Mansfield and Shelby Hospitals, said the recognition reflects work by physicians, nurses and care teams, and described a commitment to care in Richland County and beyond.

U.S. News Managing Editor and Chief of Health Analysis Ben Harder said a high performing rating indicates a hospital exceeded a national threshold and can serve as a starting point for families consulting doctors.

The outlet reported that U.S. News evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions, with fewer than half recognized in any category. The publication said its methodology relies on objective measures including risk-adjusted mortality, preventable complications and patient experience.

OhioHealth, based in Columbus, describes itself as a not-for-profit health system founded in 1891.
