WTVG reports that The Salvation Army and the Marines’ Toys for Tots program will accept applications for Christmas assistance in person in Toledo during two October windows. Registration is scheduled for Oct. 6-9 and Oct. 13-16, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 620 N. Erie St., according to the station. The event is upcoming relative to the Sept. 30, 2026 draft date.
Eligibility is limited to Lucas County residents, and WTVG says only one application per household will be accepted. The program provides toys for children from infancy through age 12. The source states that households with children ages 13 through 18 may still apply and will receive food assistance via a Kroger gift card.
The Salvation Army says applicants must bring a birth certificate for each child 12 and younger, or a printout from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, along with guardianship papers if applicable. Proof of all other household members is also required. The source directs readers to salvationarmynwohio.org for more information.
