The Stark County Sheriff's Department used its Facebook page to publicize a free car seat giveaway, according to FOX 8 News. Akron Children's Hospital and the Goodyear Foundation are credited with providing the seats for families in the county with low incomes.
Those interested are told to telephone 330-543-1595, both to confirm they qualify and to reserve a slot. Walk-ins will not be accepted, and appointments close Friday, Nov. 20.
The giveaway is scheduled Dec. 4, 2026, running 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the sheriff's office at 4500 Atlantic Boulevard NE, Canton, Ohio 44705.
Organizers caution that slots fill quickly, so families are encouraged to call early.
