A second self-guided farm stand tour through Trumbull County is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, with hours of noon to 5 p.m., according to WKBN. Local Farmstand Finds and the American Farmstand Association are hosting the event, which follows a similar crawl held the week before.
Seven area farm stands are listed as participants, with their names and addresses accompanying the station's report. Organizers describe the format as a backroads crawl that participants navigate on their own, intended to fill an afternoon with visits to small farms, home-based producers and roadside stands.
Amy Elrite, identified as founder of both Local Farmstand Finds and the American Farmstand Association, said the crawls are designed to give very small farm stands visibility while also offering families a reason to explore rural communities they might otherwise pass by. She said the groups have held crawls in communities nationwide this year and that some participants have turned them into full-day trips from outside the immediate area.
The station reports that registration and the event map are available online.
