BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — A four-day display of The Wall That Heals at the Belmont County Fairgrounds ended Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, according to WTRF.
A closing ceremony was held before crews took the traveling memorial apart. Volunteers then spent several hours disassembling it, and the wall was escorted to the county line afterward, the station reported.
Organizers told WTRF that more than 8,000 people came to see the three-quarter replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and that more than 1,000 students visited to learn about the Vietnam War. The station described the installation as a reminder of the more than 58,000 lives lost in that conflict.
In remarks reported by WTRF, organizers called the week incredible and said Belmont County, which they characterized as patriotic, delivered. They cited the thousands of visitors, the student turnout, and what they described as healing, education and camaraderie over the four days.
WTRF also reported that families were able to stand beside names they had carried in their hearts for decades.
According to the station, the wall's next stop is Aston, Pennsylvania.
